What is Wiser Browser?

Wiser Browser is a privacy-focused web browser built on the Chromium open-source project. It provides the speed, compatibility, and developer tools you expect from a modern browser while removing all Google-specific tracking, telemetry, and data collection services.

Wiser Browser is developed independently and is not affiliated with Google, the Chromium project, or any advertising company. Our sole mission is to provide a browser that respects your privacy and gives you full control over your browsing experience.

Key Differences from Chrome

Wiser Browser removes or replaces numerous Chrome components that communicate with Google's servers, including: Safe Browsing real-time URL checks, usage metrics and crash reporting, Chrome Sync (replaced with privacy-respecting Wiser Sync), the Topics API, Protected Audiences API, Attribution Reporting, and background update pings.

Additionally, Wiser Browser adds features that Chrome does not offer: unrestricted extension sideloading, continued Manifest V2 support, DNS randomization, automatic de-AMP (redirecting AMP pages to original sources), and enhanced fingerprinting resistance.

Open Source

Wiser Browser is built on the open-source Chromium project. Our custom code -- including privacy enhancements, extension freedom patches, and Wiser Sync -- is developed in the open. You can inspect, audit, and verify exactly what the browser does.

We believe that trust in a browser should be verifiable, not assumed. If you cannot inspect the code, you cannot trust the browser.
